NRL odds guide
What an NRL odds page means when a market is missing
Interpret empty head-to-head, line and total cells without inventing a bookmaker price.
Fixture and quote are different things
The NRL draw identifies a scheduled match. A source may return that match with no line prices, a head-to-head price from one bookmaker, or no supported market at all. None of these states means the match itself is cancelled. The page should show a fixture with a clear price-coverage message rather than a fabricated zero.
Check exact coverage
For line betting, a Team A +5.5 quote cannot substitute for a missing Team A +6.5 quote. For totals, over 40.5 and under 40.5 are distinct selections. A comparison badge needs two or more bookmakers on the same row. Show one listed quote as one quote, not as the best in a nonexistent field.
Treat failures separately
A temporarily unreachable API is not a round with no games. Keep the feed error visible and avoid reusing an old price as though it were current. Once the feed responds, confirm the source capture time and the bookmaker's live market before placing a wager.
Worked example
Illustration: the draw lists Match A. Book A has over 40.5 at 1.90; Book B has over 41.5 at 1.93. There is only one bookmaker at each exact total, so neither row supports a cross-book best-price claim.
Illustrative numbers for explaining the calculation. They are not current bookmaker quotes.
Sources and method
The fixture and quotes are illustrative. This guide defines coverage and outage states; it makes no claim about current NRL bookmaker availability.
